ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH , SAFETY & LABOUR

LEGISLATION DOCUMENTATION

AND

SOFTWARE

 

 

1. INTRODUCTION

There is a general belief that environmental law consists of the National Water Act, Environment Conservation Act, and Atmospheric Pollution Prevention Act.  This is not true.  There are approximately 80 acts with regulations under these acts, as well as provincial ordinances controlling the environment. Our competitors do not include all these ACTS and Regulations and do not include any of the By-laws, municipality nor Local, neither do they supply their clients with the current white papers, ordinances, etc.

The Government has included environmental issues in the Constitution, and thereby has provided an opportunity for people to pursue environmental matters in the public interest in a Court of Law.

A consequence of non-compliance with legislation could be the risk of substantial financial loss, due to cleanup processes, loss of asset value and penalties.

Companies are increasingly pressured to adhere to legal requirements and it can also be expected that control will become stricter in future.

To minimise risk, companies should be aware at all times of and in possession of the relevant environmental legislation that can have an economical or operational impact on their business.

2. OUR COMPANY OBJECTIVE/MISSION STATEMENT

To ensure that our all subscribers are aware, at all times and in the possession of  relevant environmental, health & safety legislation. To assist and guide our clients during their identification of Impacts, Legal Registers, and their monthly updating, to ensure the successful achievement and maintenance of certification of all audit requirements. To notify all subscribers fortnightly of any forthcoming legislation, which does affect it’s particular industry.

To simplify the practical usage & access of the legislation electronic formats, etc in user-friendly designed software.

To regularly conduct market research in measuring our service quality, products against our competition and maintain top position.

To design and upgrade electronic products/SOFTWARE.

3. SCOPE OF WORK

The development of a specific environmental legislative master file aligned to the business requirements of the company, including international, national, provincial and the relevant local by-laws and all relative legislation;

  • The provision of all changes and amendments to international, national, provincial and local environmental legislation, as well as all regulations and notices pertaining to the company’s business within 10 working days after promulgation;

  • All changes and amendments will be summarised in a two-weekly report to the relevant manager or managers in the case of a group of companies.

  • Any draft legislation pertaining to the company’s business will be forwarded to the relevant manager/s for comment.

4. FORMAT OF PRODUCTS

All our products can be supplied in any of three formats:

  • A database format
    (Minimum requirements are Windows 98, MS-Word for Windows, VB Runtime 6 - comes with Office 2000 -  and 64 MB RAM).
    Recommended System: Windows 2000 or higher, Office 2000 or higher, 256 MB Ram or higher

  • Internet/intranet
    Minimum requirements are Internet Explorer 4.1 for the internet version; and Windows NT with Option Pack 4 for the intranet version).
    Recommended Systems: Internet Explorer 6 SP1 or higher for Internet Version; Windows Server 2000 SP4 or higher for Intranet version.
